Ahoy everyone!
This year the Floatilla, which has already become a tradition, will be organised as a weekend-long common sailing on the first weekend of August 2.-4.8. with the club’s keel boats GinTrip and ElecTrip. FirstTrip continues its long journey further away and is not able to join this time.
Other boats of past and present members’ are also more than welcome to join the Floatilla, so tell your friends and all the boats can join the fun!
And that’s not all. In connection with the Floatilla, on Friday 2.8. we are organising Pier Dances in Pihlajasaari which is open to everyone! You can join us on the island via water bus for the evening to enjoy the sunset in good company, even if you aren’t able to join the sailing this time. A more detailed schedule of the pier dances will be announced soon. Please also go and add your favourite sea themed anthems or any other songs you’d like to dance to on the Pier Dances official playlist here. Dances may be rescheduled to another date if the weather is not co-operating.
So, the first night of the Floatilla is spent dancing on Pihlajasaari, after which the schedule for the weekend is planned together with the skippers, taking into account the weather and the wishes of the crew. If all the participants can start already early in the day on Friday, there is an opportunity to go for a little spin in front of Helsinki, or maybe have lunch at Suomenlinna, before arriving at Pihlajasaari.
Sign up for the Floatilla opens on Tuesday 23rd July at 5PM, and sign ups are only accepted via the registration form which will be sent by email shortly before sign up begins. Sign up closes on Sunday 28th July, or when spots for the sailing have been filled.
