Information about the courses
The Sailing course
The sailing course gives you the skills to work as a crew member on a sailboat and is therefore ideal for the beginner sailor. Also for someone who needs more confidence to operate a boat or help with the sailing terminology. The sailing course teaches seamanship, sailing and boat handling. No previous knowledge or skills in sailing and navigation are required. The course consists of a theory day (8h) and sailing days/nights (24h active sailing in total)
Spring Sailing Courses
Theory days for spring courses are 5.5. and 7.5. Sessions will be held at the evening in Otaniemi.

The Advanced Crew course
The advanced crew course lasts 8 hours over 2 evenings where you get to hone your skills as a crew in different positions during all typical maneuvers. The pre-requisite is a solid knowledge of acting as crew in all positions, typically this means that you completed the basic course and did some sailing after that.

The Inshore Skipper course
The Inshore Skipper course focuses on departure and arrival preparations, maneuvering under sail and engine, mooring techniques, skipper fundamentals, navigation, route planning, and safety procedures. To enroll, you must have successfully completed Navigation 1 (or an equivalent course) and logged at least 100 nautical miles as a crew member. However, prior skippering experience is not required. The course consists of two theory lessons (8h in total) and sailing days/nights (24h active sailing in total).
Spring Inshore Skipper courses
Theory days for spring courses are 5.5. and 7.5. for English course and 5.5. and 11.5. for Finnish courses. Sessions will be held at the evening in Otaniemi.
